- 2.2 MB zipped - 2.6 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 08.07.2013)
The sample of a sequence of hits on a metal pole with a wooden plank is used in source A running in Granular mode. Source B uses a resynthed derivative of that sample in additive mode. There are lots of possibilities of changing the harmonic structure in source B using the avilable controller knobs. All Performance Controllers and both x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Vibra Grains - 17.9 MB zipped - 19.2 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 24.06.2013)
Two dynamic tremolos in different ranges which I played on a vibraphone split across the keyboard, split point is D#4/E4. Source A runs in granular mode, source B in sampler mode. Control the sample/remolo speed of source A with Performance Controller 1. Add LFO-modulated ring modulation with knob 5, control the modulation speed with knob 6. All controllers, x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaphots are available in the Remix Pad.
Duduk Resynthed - 914KB zipped - 1.1 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 14.05.2013)
This patch uses a resynthed Duduk sample (additive+spectral mode) recorded during a recent sample session with a great Duduk player. You can eliminate the original pitches of the performed phrase with Controller 2 turned hard left and transform the phrase into a sustained pad sound. The spectral component always maintains the original pitches of the phrase, bring it in with Controller 4. The MDecay and MSustain knobs are used for vibrato and vibrato speed, Aftertouch controls temposynced amplitude modulation. All Conrollers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.

- 113.5 MB zipped - 119.2 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 03.05.2013)
This patch is a multisampled derivative of a soundscape I recently made - retuning and transposing a windchime recording with Melodyne to an indian raga scale, then importing that sample into Padshop Pro and sending it through a tuned HP filter with high resonance and then furtherly processing this texture with saturators and spatial processors. 5 samples were produced reaching from C0 - C5. Source A plays in Sampler mode, source B uses a resynthed cello sample made during a recent recording session.
Make Contact - 53 MB zipped - 55.4 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 05.03.2013)
Two samples made with Metasynth are playing in sources A+B, A in Granular mode, B in Sampler mode. Sources C+D play two VA synth sounds, x-fade between the sources with x/y-pad 1. Bring in tuned combs (key follow) with the x-axis of x/y-pad 2 in order to give the samples more tonality. This patch can be a cosmic soundscape and a gentle pad alike, check out the 8 Snaps in the Remix Pad. All Controllers are assigned.
- 14.2 MB zipped - 15.3 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 04.03.2013)
The 2 involved samples in sources A+B were made by resynthing a Bassflute tremolo in Metasynth, playing back the resynthed data with beaten guitar string samples, then processed furtherly inside MS. Source C adds a VA synth sound, so this patch can be anything between a mysterious metallic soundscape and an epic pad. Snaps 5-7 have sequenced/temposynced things going on affecting volume and pitch. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned.
- 19,8 MB zipped - 29,8 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 08.02.2013)
A mysterious soundscape and chromatic percussion instrument made from 3 glassbottle samples I created for my Padshop Pro Bank Granular Worlds. 2 processed glass sounds are playing in sources A/B, a resynthed pure glass sample in source C, which you can bring in with Performance Controller 5. All controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.

- 12,2 MB zipped - 13,4 MB unzipped - (uploaded on 18.01.2013)
Source A plays a sample created by turning a plastic harmonic tube at different speeds to achieve different harmonics. Sample playhead is slightly modulated by a random glide-LFO, turn Ctrl 1 (MW assigned to it) up to scroll through the sample. Source B plays a resynthed version of that sample resulting in a very warm pad sound, make it brighter with the "Sym B" Controller. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.

- 7,8 MB zip (uploaded 24.08.2012)
I found this little table bell with a very pure tone in a local store. This patch uses 9x Round Robin variations of shorter accents recorded in L-C-R. Source A plays in Sampler mode, source B in Granular mode, crossfade with x/y-pad 1. Ringmod, Vibrato, Pitchmod, Ampmod, filtering, you have a lot of control over the sound with the Performance Controllers and x/y-pads. 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad. Happy tinkling!
- 18,4 MB zip (uploaded 03.07.2012)
Each of the 4 sources which run in Granular mode plays a different segment of the same sample looped back and forth, a sample I made by intermodulating a progression played on a Euphonium with itself in GRMs Grinder Tool and adding some additional FX.
Crossfade between the sources with x/y-pad 1, lots of filter and pitch modulation is available using the Performance Controllers, x/y-pad 2 is assigned to Alchemy's FX, adding some mean distortion and a huge bright reverb. 8 Snaps are programmed in the Remix Pad.
- 3,5 MB zip (uploaded 13.06.2012)
A drumloop made with Tremor and some FX Plugs, original tempo is 92 BPM. One source running in Granular mode, sample playhead position controlled by a temposynced MSEG, so the loop will sync to host tempo. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned.
- 12,6 MB zip (uploaded 07.06.2012)
A low French Horn note (C#1) recorded in a church, resynthed and spectralized in Metasynth and then processed with GRM Tools Grinder intermodulating the sample with another horn sound. Source A runs in Granular mode and plays up to C#3, Source B uses a resynthed derivative (additive) of the original/unprocessed horn sample. The 8 Snapshots vary from paddy soundscape-like patches to heavily modulated experimetal sounds. All Controllers are assigned.
Meta Monk - 17,5 MB zip (uploaded 10.04.2012)
The process of creating the involved sample is a bit convoluted. During the test recordings in a church for my new Alchemy Bank I sang a monklike drone-tone through a trombone mute and approached the microphones from behind. A snippet from that recording was then processed in Melodyne and Metasynth. Source A in Sampler mode and Source C in Granular mode play this sample, Source B uses a resynthed derivative. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snapshots are available in the Remix Pad.
Sax Arpeggio Turn - 5,2 MB zip (uploaded 05.04.2012)
An accelerating arpeggio played in a church on my soprano sax turning around myself while playing. Source A in Sampler mode, Source B in Granular mode. MDecay controls Reverb Mix, MSustain controls Delay Mix. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad. You will find 2 presets, one will put less strain on your CPU by not using HQ Filters and reducing the Reverb Quality.
- 8,1 MB zip (uploaded 04.04.2012)
A phrase played on a soprano saxophone in a church. Source A in Granular Mode, Source B in Additive Mode resynthing that sample. MSustain adds Pitchvar to the additive source, set to hard right it plays the pitches as in the original sample. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snapshots are available in the Remix Pad.
- 55,7 MP zip (uploaded 06.03.2012)
Source A plays a sfz with 5 multisamples made by processing a gonglike Chromaphone sound with Endless Series and crusherX, split across the keyboard. The source runs in Granular mode, sample playhead position controlled by a Random Glide LFO, control the scanning speed with Controller 1. Source B plays a wave created in the additive editor. All Performance Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snapshots are available.
In the Toy Shop - 60,1 MB zip
On of my ElectraX patches
multisampled in 7 ocatves, each sample 40 secosnds long split across the keyboard. Lot's of granular fun is available. Use it as a belli-like, percussive instrument or as a strange texture generator, it's all in there. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Iris - 35,9 MB zip
A harmonic, new-agey texture I made with Granite and various GRM-Tools, sampled in 4 octaves split across the keyboard. All 4 sources use those samples, Sources A+C run in Granular mode, sources B+D in Sampler mode. C+D use additional Combfilter with key follow to make the played pitches more distinct. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Calm Texture - 44,3 MB zip
Source A runs in Granular mode and uses a sample I made with 3 instances of the Plug-In Endless Series
. Source B runs in Sampler mode and uses a reverbrated version of the same sample. Lot's of Granular and FIlter Mojo is available, all Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Animated Life - 19,2 MB zip
Two electronic textures I produced with various Plugs using a very convoluted procedure are used in sources A+B running in Granular mode. Sources C+D add a padlike texture using Alchemy's VA Oscillators. All temposynced animation in this patch is triplet based. All Controllers and x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Stretch Love - 152 KB zip
This patch uses a vocal sample - me saying "I love you" - running in Granular mode and you can scroll through the sample with the Modwheel, or whatever you assign to Performance Controller 7. Lots of Granular action is available in x/y-pad 2, all Controllers are and x/y-pads are assigned. This can be anything from a funkybass sound to a granular vocal pad, just explore the 8 Snaps in the Remix Pad. When scrolling through the sample playing percussively you might want to smoothen the Attack a bit with the MAttack knob to avoid clicks.
The demo was jammed using 5 instances of Alchemy, each one using a different Snapshot.
Factory Music Split - 18,8 MB zip
Machinery I recorded in a russian steel factory sounding like a rattle snake, transposed and then processed with various Combs, FIlters and Saturators, then cut up and mixed to make 4 samples split across the keyboard. Each sample plays over 2 octaves, source A plays in Granular mode and source B in sampler mode. The MDecay knob controls the Reverb length, the MSustain knob adds random pitch modulation. All Controllers and pads are assigned, 8 snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Violin Cloud - 26,3 MB zip
The processed recording of a violin in a large rehearsal room recorded during one of my recent improvisation workshops is used in this patch. Sources A+B resynthesize it in additive and spectral mode, source C plays it in Granular mode. Source D adds a warm detuned string sound. Overdriving the new Bandpass Filter in the latest Alchemy version sounds nice and rich....All Controllers and Pads are ssigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad. The MSustain knob adds a temposynced pulsation.
Ethereal Clouds - 82,9 MB zip
5 samples I made by playing arpeggiated chords on a piano in different tonalities, converting the recorded Audio to Midi, doubling the piano notes with a bell-like sound also made with Alchemy and convoluting all of this with Impulse Responses of tinkling screws in a plastic Box, then reverbrating it a lot and resampling it. These sample are split across the keyboard, one octave each, the upper and lower samples are extended.
Source A plays in Sampler mode and source B in Granular Mode.
All 8 Performance Controllers and both x/y-pads are assigned. If you want to use Alchemy's Reverb on top, activate it in the FX section (rgth at the bottom) and turn up the MSustain knob which is assigned to wet/dry.
Horizontal Split - 39,7 MB zip
Source A carries a drone sample I made by convoluting various things with various other things, it is mapped up to C4. Source C plays a resynthed sound produced by hitting a ladder with a metal chain. Sources B+D play self-created additive waveforms. All Performance Controllers and both x/y-pads are assigned, 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad are available. This patch can be anything between a new agey Soundscape and a very experimental noise generator.
Convoluted Water - 22,1 MB zip
Describing the making of this patch is a bit convoluted:
In Metasynth I resynthed one of my current filmscore layouts and played back the resythed data with the sample of a female convoluted voice. Amongst other things I tuned the resulting chaoticness to a pentatonic scale, and then applied the analysed data of the picture of some rain clouds to filter that result. Then I took the filtered sound and convoluted it with the sample of a patch from my Sound Bank Unlimited Subscription named Watervox. This sample was then cut up into 4 pieces, filtered and compressed and imported into Alchemy, each source playing one slice in Granular mode. Performance Controller 3 controls the amount of LFO-modulation (Random Glide mode) applied to the sample start point in all sources and Controller 4 the speed of that LFO. The MSustain knob brings in a sequencer assigned to the Highpass Cutoff in all sources. x/y-pad 1 crossfades between the looped samples (back and forth mode) and x/y-pad 2 is dedicated to Filterworx. All 8 Controllers are assigned, 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Very strange Pad - 223,3 MB zip
20 samples I made by multisampling one of my Prism (Reaktor) patches, 4 samples (+40 seconds each) per octave, mapped from C0-C5, not looped. Source A plays in Sampler mode, source B in Granular mode. All x/y-pads and Performance Controllers are assigned, 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad are available.
Anvil Trills Split - 7,4 MB zip
5 samples split across the keyboard playing repeating notes with accelerando/ritardando creshendo/decreshendo on a chromatically tuned metallophone (anvils). Source A plays in Granular mode, source B in Sampler mode. All 8 Performance Controllers are assigned, 8 Snaps are availbale in the Remix Pad. The MDecay knob increases the Reverb Length.
Granular Walnuts - 2,4 MB zip
This is one of my Kontakt patches converted to sfz-format with chickensystems Translator Pro. It uses 50 walnut samples recorded in L-C-R, 10 times round robin, 5 velocity layers. The source is set to Granular mode and there are plenty of possibilities to tweak this patch with the 8 Performance Controllers, 2 x/y-pads and 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad. Happy walnutting!
Space Bells - 22,3 MB zip
I recorded my beautiful Chingchop-Chimes as a test for my new stereo pair of in-ear microphones, hitting the bells and moving them around my head. The original sample is used in source A in Granular mode. Source B, also in Granular mode, carries a processed derivate of those bells, a huge bell space made with Aether, Shimmerverb and SoundToys Echoboy. Sources C+D use resynthed derivates of the bell sample. All Controllers, both x/y-pads and all 8 Remix pads are assigned.
Sanddrum Scape - 26,5 MB zip
What started as a test for my new stereo-set of Neumann KM 184 mics, ended in this Soundscape for Alchemy. A one minute long sanddrum sample resynthed in additive and spectral mode, is playing in source A, source B uses the sample in Granular mode. Plenty of interaction is possible, as usual all Controllers/Remix pads/x/y-pads are assigned.
Blurry Folk - 25 MB zip
Some patches have a strange Genesis. I resynthed a field recording of a girl singing a russian folk song during an end-of-winter-outdoor-party within Metasynth and made this strange electronic texure out of it using a Multiwave FM Synth. The resulting sample is resynthed in Alchemy and twisted furthterly, two sources in additive mode are active. All Performance Controller, both x/y-pads and all 8 Snaps in the Remix pad are assigned.
Unison Nervousness - 5.7 MB zip
A resynthed sample made with Reaktor.
X/Y pad 1 uses additive morphing between the 2 sources. All Controllers are assigned as well as both x/y-pads. 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad.
Crunk Techno Pot - 3.3 MB zip
So it was time to produce a Techno patch I guess. The sample involved is a loop I played on a cooking pot with drumsticks, destroyed with a Uhbik Frequency Shifter and iZotope's Trash. The loop plays in Granular mode, sample play head position/speed controlled by a tempo synced Ramp Up LFO, so it will sync to host tempo. Source B adds a technoid sequencer, source C+D carry stomping kick drums. Some Performance Controllers are assigned, X/Y pad 1 crossfades between the sources, 8 Snapshots are available in the Remix Pad.
Spectral Mystery - 5.3 MB zip
For this patch I used a 2 minute long field recording of evening birds which I made last summer. First totally denoised with iZotope RX to get rid of the background ambience and wind noises, then split up into 4 equally long segments and then resynthed in Alchemy using additive synthesis. Quite a lot of filtering going on, Ring modulation can be added, turning up Controller 7 will bring back the original pitch modulation of the birds turning this pad like texture into wildlife craziness. 8 Performance Controllers are assigned, X/Y pad 1 morphs between the 4 sources, X/Y pad 2 controls the speed of the resynthed samples and the Reverb time. 8 Snapshots are available in the Remix Pad.
Saturn - 5.3 MB zip
This galactic patch uses a sample I made by processing a fragment of the recording of chattering and yelling teenagers in a verby gym (which I made some years ago during a workshop) with crusherX, then loading it into Kontakt, transposing it down 2 octaves and denoising the result with iZotope's RX denoiser, finally isolating a fragment of the result. Source A resynthesizes this sample in additive and spectral mode - some adjustments were made in the additive editor like changing amplitude volumes, enhancing certain spectrals and subduing others. Source B carries the sample in Granular mode, source C adds a detuned Saw-Arp wave. Plenty of LFO-controlled filtering going on, 8 Performance Controllers as well as both X/Y pads are assigned and 8 Snaps are available in the Remix Pad. Remix Pads 1-4 are tonal pad like sounds, pads 5-8 are more weird and abstract derivates.
Sax Cloud - 38.6 MB zip
In Source A this patch uses another Soprano sax sample processed with Crusher-x (which currently makes me totally mad) and a another crusher-xed bell sample in Source B. Source C resynthesizes a Wind chime sample I made for an upcoming Kontakt Library. Various Alchemy Filters process the sound, 7 Performance Controllers and 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad are available. The sax sample in source A starts monophonic and then gets polyphonic/dissonant. The speed of all samples is controlled with the x-axis of X/Y pad 2, X/Y pad 1 morphs between the sources. Turning up Controller 7 will turn the Wind chimes in source C into a tonal, vocoder-like metallic sound, the sample start point of the chimes is controlled via velocity.
Nervous Wonder - 4.1 MB zip
This patch resynthesizes an audio file I made by processing single percussive hits from my Kontakt patch Backstage drums
with the fabulous Crusher-x Plug-In
, which can create fantastic grainy textures. 8 Performance Controllers, the 2 X/Y pads and 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad are available. This patch can be anything from a meditative and calm pad-like sound to a totally crazy Sci-Fi overkill attack.
Sax Multiphonics Church - 7.3 MB zip
This patch uses a processed recording of me playing Multiphonics on my Soprano Sax recorded in a huge church during a concert with my brother some years ago. The sample was resynthed, source A uses Additive and Spectral derivates of that sound, source B only the additive part which is pitched down an octave and a Lowpass is applied. In the Master Filter section a Bandpass and a Ringmodulator are processing the signal. The sample (well it's not a sample anymore actually) speed can be slowed down even more when moving the x-axis of X/Y pad 2 to the right. 8 Performance Controllers are available as well as 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad.
Modwave Pad - 5.1 KB zip
This strange pad-like patch uses self drawn additive waves in the 3 sources, use the X/Y pad 1 to balance the levels between them. X/Y pad 2 provides plenty of control for filtering and overtone structure. 8 Snapshots are available in the Remix pad as well as 4 Performance Controllers.
Clock Combs - 15.6 MB zip
This patch processes the resynthed recording of an old Clock TImer I recorded in my cellar. The sample play head position/speed in Source A is controlled by a synced MSEG, it won't synchronize perfectly to the speed of your host sequencer but nearly. Source B uses the same sample but here the Play head position is all over the place controlled by a LFO. A Combfilter in the Master section creates pitched sounds the more you increase the Resonance with the assigned Performance Controller. The two X/Y pads and 5 Controllers are assigned, 8 Snapshots are available.
Warm Vibratopad reloaded - 4.2 MB zip
This is a revamped patch I posted about a year ago in the KVR Library. A resynthed vocal sample from one of my theatre projects processed in Alchemy. 8 Snapshots are available and 6 Performance Controllers are assigned as well as both X/Y pads. This patch can be anything from a very warm pad sound to an experimental Soundscape with unpredictable bursts of noise. Enjoy!
Metal Drops - 29.4 MB zip
2 of my commercial Soundscapes resynthesized in Alchemy using additive and spectral mode simultaneously in each source module. As these samples are pretty long I didn't loop them so they will eventually stop playing. Control the Pitch variation of the sounds with the Modwheel (Performance Control 7), Sample start point with Control 1, Attack time with Control 2, Master Lowpass Cutoff with Control 3. X/Y pad 1 crossfades between the two sources and in X/Y pad 2 two you can totally twist this patch around by controlling the sample speed, the volume of the spectral components, the pitch of the harmonics and Reverb amount. 8 Snapshots are available, the Demo was produced by morphing between the snaps and occasionally using the Modwheel.
Voiceverb Pad - 5 MB zip
4 samples I made by shouting/singing into the resonance body of a broken piano capturing just the reverb/resonance of the piano, not the shouts themselves. Each source module carries one of theses voiceverbs in Granular mode, the play head position/speed of the samples is controlled by a MSEG in forward/backward loop mode. Morph between the 4 sources with X/Y pad 1. The attack time is controlled via velocity, the harder you play the more percussive the attack becomes. A Formant Filter and a Lowpass are active in the Master section, control the Formant Cutoff with the Modwheel and the Lowpass Cutoff with X/Y pad 2. There is also a performance control knob named "freeze" which reduces the Random time modulation of the Granulator yielding a sort of freezing effect of the voiceverbs. A big Reverb space can be added with the assigned Performance Control. There are 8 snapshots available in the Remix Pad.
Lost and found - Bell texture and Pad - 30.3 MB zip
I've begun to sort out my DAT archive. Many tapes are not even labeled and as a little surprise for myself I just grab an unlabelled tape, hook up the DAT player to my DAW and press record. So this patch uses two of these lost and found recordings, recorded during a live gig in a volcano cave on Lanzarote. Module A+B carry a bell texture, A resynthesizes it, B runs in Granular mode. Module C carries a pad-like Brass sound. Both X/Y pads are assigned as well as 4 Performance Controllers and 8 Snapshots in the Remix pad. The demo unfolds a chord from top to bottom and holds it for 2 minutes, the rest is done by morphing through the snaps in the Remix pad. So let's see what the next DAT tape brings...
Metal Mallet Loops - 13.6 MB zip
4 tempo synced loops played on a chromatic anvil mallet. Module A+B carry quintuplet loops, Module 3+4 carry sextuplet loops, all Modules are set to Granular, sample speed controlled by a tempo synched Ramp Up LFO. Processed with Ringmodulation (Controls 7+8) and Lowpass/Combfilter. Both X/Y pads are assigned, 8 Snapshots are available. The Demos morphs between the Snaps and uses some Pitch wheel in the first 4 bars.
Singing Elves - 5.9 MB zip
Mysterious vocal patch processing 2 resynthed female vocal recordings from recent theatre projects. 8 Snapshots are programmed, the demo was played tweaking the X/Y pads and other Controllers in real time. By default the pitch modulation (Pitch var) of the singing elves is eliminated, move Controller 7 (assigned to the Modwheel) to regain the original pitch modulation.
Mallet Sequence - 1.4 MB zip
This patch processes a resynthed single note sequence played on a Xylophone syncing to the host tempo by using a synced Ramp up LFO. Processed with MSEG-controlled Ring Modulation (turn the Modwheel up to hear it) and a Combfilter (check the X/Y-area 1). Lot's of Controllers are available including 8 snapshots in the Remix Pad. The Demo morphs between the 8 Remix snaps.
New Age Gongs - 2 MB zip
This magical Patch processes two resynthed samples I recorded with asian Gongs. Lot's of Controllers are available and 8 Snapshots in the Remix Pad. The Demo was played in 2 passes. First the Midi notes were recorded, then I morphed between the 8 snaps - direction 1-2-3-4-8-7-6-5.
Saxpad - 3.6 MB zip
Warm pad processing a resynthed Soprano sax phrase with LFO-controlled Formant and other Filters.
Spectral Choirpad - 9.8 MB zip

Resynthed sequence in 5/8 played on my Soprano Sax. The demo was played in realtime tweaking the available Controllers.
Ice Pad - 319 KB zip
Icy Pad made from resynthed Ice breaking sounds sent into a pitched Combfilter
Stretchgongs - 2.5 MB zip
Dark Soundscape derived from samples made by playing a metal plate with rubber balls. The demo was played live using the two available Controllers and the X/Y Pad which morphs between the two sources.
Mighty Barrels - 1.0 MB zip
Metallic Stabs and Pad Sound derived from the sample of a big Barrel. The demo was played live using the 5 available Controllers.

Installation of single Alchemy patches on your computer (Mac):
After unpacking the zips I suggest the following:
Create a folder named "Patchpool Subscription" within your folder Alchemy/User/Presets and drop the .acp- and aaz-files in there.
Create a folder named "Patchpool Samples" within your folder Alchemy/User/Samples and drop the wav files in there, and/or make a subfolder for patches with multiple wavs and drop the wavs inside there if you want to keep things organized. You don't need to put the sfz-files in the samples folder as the acp-files already contain the mapping info for the patches.
For PC/Windows users theses paths would be:
